Applies to productivity.iaaa.academy and every tool on it
These tools are free to use, for anything, without asking. They are also small, single-purpose and offered as they are — read this before you depend on one for something that matters.
Before you rely on this document: drafted to be read and understood rather than to survive a courtroom. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer.
1Who is behind these
Productivity Instruments is operated by Rahul Ghai under the Institute of Applied AI and Analytics™, an independent institute he founded, based in Bangalore, India. The Institute of Applied AI and Analytics™ is referred to as IAAA throughout the rest of this page. It is contactable at connect@iaaa.academy.
2How this sits with the Institute's terms
This site is a subdomain of iaaa.academy, and the Institute's Terms of Use apply to it. This page adds to them; it does not replace them. Where the two differ on purchases, payments, refunds or cancellations, the Institute's terms govern — though none of those arise here, because nothing on this site is for sale.
Where the Institute's terms describe something this site does not do, this page is the accurate one for this site.
3What you may do
Every tool here is currently free. Use any of them, as often as you like, for personal or commercial work, without a licence, an account, or a fee. Link to any page. Recommend them to anyone. Nothing is asked in return.
Using the tools is not the same as taking them — what you may do with the design and the code is set out in the copyright notice.
4Using these tools fairly
There is no account to break and nothing to abuse at anyone else's expense, so this is short. Do not attempt to disrupt or interfere with the normal operation of the site, do not scrape it at scale, and do not use anything from it to imply an affiliation with the Institute of Applied AI and Analytics™ that does not exist.
5They are offered as they are
These tools come with no warranty of any kind. They may contain errors, may behave differently across browsers, and may stop working after a browser update. They are provided without a promise that they are fit for any particular purpose.
6Do not rely on them for anything critical
A timer here is a convenience, not an instrument of record. Do not use these tools for medication timing, medical or clinical purposes, laboratory or industrial timing, legal deadlines, examinations, safety-critical work, or anything where a missed or inaccurate interval causes harm or loss.
Timing depends on your browser and device. A backgrounded tab may be throttled by the operating system, and a sleeping device does not keep counting reliably.
7Your data is your responsibility
Everything these tools remember is stored in your own browser, as described in the privacy notice. There is no backup and no server-side copy. Clearing your browser data, switching browsers or devices, or using a private window will lose it, and it cannot be recovered by anyone — including me.
8The music player is someone else's
Pomodoro carries an optional music player. Nothing loads until you press Load; press it and the player comes from YouTube, which means Google's terms and privacy policy govern that player, not this page. What plays there is not mine, is not hosted here, and can be changed, made private or removed by whoever posted it — at which point the player will simply say so. Paste your own link and the same applies to it. If you would rather not deal with Google at all, never press Load; the rest of the tool works exactly the same and this site still makes no third-party request.
9Availability, and what "currently free" means
These pages may change, move, or be withdrawn at any time, without notice. No uptime is promised.
There is no plan to charge for these tools, and no paid tier is being built. "Currently" is there because a tool can be retired, folded into something else, or replaced, and nothing here should read as a promise that it will exist forever.
If that ever changes, anything already on your device stays yours and stays readable. You would not be locked out of your own work by a change on this end.
10Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, I accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from the use of these tools, including lost work, lost data, missed timings, or any indirect or consequential loss. If any limitation here is unenforceable where you live, the rest still stands.
11Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Bangalore, Karnataka.
12Changes
If these terms change, the date above changes with them. Continuing to use the tools after that means the new version applies.
